Munich Aerospace
For several decades Munich has been an aerospace research and technology center of high international reputation. A combination of the potential of its numerous universities, research associations and notable industrial players comprises a unique performance spectrum. Munich’s aerospace region spans the complete innovation chain, from natural sciences and fundamental research onwards to advanced system engineering and technical realization. Numerous aerospace suppliers of the Munich region further add to the present local technology competence in a remarkable way. The Technische Universität München (TUM), the Universität der Bundeswehr München (UniBwM), Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt e.V. (DLR) with several institutes located in Oberpfaffenhofen and Bauhaus Luftfahrt e.V. (BHL) hence have established a new research, development and education center to concentrate the aforementioned competences into a single entity: Munich Aerospace - Fakultät für Luft- und Raumfahrt.

The association „Aviation Initiative for Renewable Energy in Germany - aireg e.V." sees itself as a platform for promoting science and research in the area of climate-friendly aviation fuels, with the overriding emphasis on sustainability. The initiative aims to promote the use of regenerative energy sources in aviation in Germany and create a sound basis for political decisionmaking with regard to the introduction of climate-friendly aviation fuels. To this end, 25 enterprises and organisations, including universities and research institutes, airlines, airports, aircraft manufacturers, engine manufacturers, logistics enterprises and fuel producers, have joined together in aireg e.V..
