Operational measures are one key element to reduce the climate impact of aviation. Especially in the long-range segment, revolutionary network adaptations and the integration of novel energy carriers and technologies foster this, as shown in business innovations in the Hy-ShAir project 1 . Novel passenger requirements are a driver for disruptive business models, and cabin design and processes do emerge, creating a stronger need for resilience. The two presented articles contribute to these specific aspects and exemplify the heterogeneous nature of topics in this field and the need for a holistic assessment.
